The long flight was exhausting... time to rejuvenate yourself with bodyweight exercise!
Traveling can be tough on the body... hours in cramped seats, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and the stress of rushed schedules.
You feel stiff, sore and tired to the bone.
Yea, a hot shower and a good night sleep would do you good... but in some cases, (like it is the middle of the day, or you have a meeting in a few hours), this remedy just is not feasible.
So what is a weary traveler to do?
Rejuvenate Yourself
With Bodyweight Exercise!
Part of the problem your body is having is adjusting to all the new stress you just imposed upon it.
Being stuffed in cramped seats for hours and carrying uncomfortable, unwieldy, unevenly weighted bags for great distances is not an everyday occurrence for most of us.
So make it easy for your body... give it some stress it knows how to handle.
When you get settled in to your hotel room... perform a quick bodyweight exercise workout.
You have plenty of space to perform push up varieties, squat varieties, lunge varieties and a whole host of abdominal exercises.
Some of my favorite exercises on the road are...
Free Squats
Push Ups
Plank Holds
Jumping Jacks
Burpees
Don’t worry so much about sets and reps, as getting a good, all-around workout and rejuvenating yourself with bodyweight exercise.
When you get done, you should feel you worked your entire body, your breathing and heart rates should be up and your core temperature should be elevated.
Afterwards, do some quick stretching and hit the shower.
You’ll be surprised at how rejuvenated and fresh you feel!
What Will This Quick
Bodyweight Exercise Workout Accomplish?
|
Your body will be tight, sore and “disoriented” after your long trip.
Performing the bodyweight workout will get the blood flowing and start sending much needed recuperative nutrients to all the muscles.
Your body is used to recovering after physical activity, (you’re working out regularly... right?), so it gives it something to do it is familiar with.
And those sore muscles and stiff joints from the long flight will receive those recuperative nutrients as well... helping you recover from the journey!
Bodyweight exercise is not only a great way to build a strong, fit, attractive body... but since it can be done anywhere, anytime, it is great for travelers to use to rejuvenate and recuperate from long, tiring journeys.
Rejuvenate yourself with bodyweight exercise the next time you travel... you won’t be sorry!
