About Coach Eddie Lomax
This is where I tell you how great I am and present a long list of accomplishments to impress you... or is it?
Hi, my name is Coach Eddie Lomax. My experience comes from years of study, practice and application... as well as hands-on participation in sports like American Football, Swimming, Cross-Country, Weight-Lifting, Martial Arts and Wrestling.
Boring... and what does it really tell you about me anyway?
I'm going to let you in on a little secret...
What I have personally accomplished, and what I have helped others accomplish... is of absolutely no value to you.
My value is in what I can help YOU accomplish!
My Coaching Career
I have always been athletic.
I can't remember a time when physical training, sports and physical activity did not make up a large part of my life.
I just thought being physically active was normal.
Then in 6th grade I was approached by a rather hefty classmate seeking help... he wanted me to teach him how to become better at the playground activities.
It was at this moment I realized my physical abilities were not necessarily normal, but a result of my participation in physical activity... and more importantly, that I could help others improve themselves.
In the weeks that followed... I designed a physical training program for my friend consisting of stretching, agility drills, balance practice, endurance training and various bodyweight calisthenics.
Looking back on it, this program is better than a lot of the programs out there today.
Under the curious eye of the playground monitor, we trained every day at recess... and he improved.
My first coaching success!
Girls Wanted My Advice
Although I was involved in a great many sporting activities... wrestling was my favorite.
For any of you familiar with wrestling, you know weight control is a major concern.
All the girls wanted to know, "How do I lose weight like you guys?"
I quickly realized what we put ourselves through as wrestlers was not an option for the general population seeking to control their weight.
While I didn't have the answers at the time, I have since spent a great deal of effort learning about weight control and fat loss.
Boy, were we doing things wrong!
Coaching Became
In college, football players wanted to know how someone of my size, (5'8" and 145 lbs. at the time), could be bench pressing 275 lbs. for 10 reps.
And the pattern continued...
I would be doing something, someone would see it and they would ask me to teach them how to do it.
So in essence, I did not decided to be a coach... I was destined to be a coach.
While I have held many jobs in my life, fitness coaching was my destiny.
And who am I to thumb my nose at destiny.
Optimum Fitness Network LLC
In 2006, I founded the Optimum Fitness Network LLC as a way to share my vast experience, knowledge and passion with those seeking to improve their fitness, health and physique.
In face of the staggering statistics of low levels of fitness, poor health and unattractive bodies... I have my work cut out for me!
One thing I learned as a result of my coaching experience... success is determined by action.
My countless coaching successes since the 6th grade were not so much a result of my coaching... but the result of the doing of the trainee.
Those that do... succeed!
Half the battle for a high level of fitness, improved health and the attractive body you have always wanted is figuring out what physical fitness program and fitness products are right for you... I'll help you with that part.
But the deciding factor in the battle is your action.
Use your common sense and act on my recommendations, start doing... and don't stop learning and doing until you reach your goals!
My name is Coach Eddie Lomax, and I want you to succeed in becoming the best YOU possible!
